Abstract

  • The rapid assessment and treatment of patients who arrive with acute diseases or
  • injuries falls within the specialty of emergency medicine. Emergency medical care
  • (EM) is still mostly uncontrolled and a poorly defined specialty in India and many
  • other low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). We anticipate a physician shortage
  • in most medical professions. Obstacles encountered in the practice of emergency
  • medicine in industrialized nations such as India include a shortage of qualified
  • emergency medicine experts and a lack of standardization in emergency treatment.
